I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I'm inspired to bring it up.

I think the site usability would benefit and we would feel a bit more in control of our own profile if we could designate which photos show in this area (in other words, make it "Selected Portfolio" rather than recent.

This way we can:

1) easily pick 4 or 5 (or more--how about two rows!) that we want people to see in our portfolio

2) change this with the flick of a checkbox (yes, why not just include a checkbox in the photo editing area where we can say "Selected Porfolio", or even easier, give us a special portfolio called "Selected Portfolio, which is what shows!)

I know there are workarounds for this, but they are tedious and awkward, not very nice, and really not good design...I think you get the point ;)

And while you're at it, I'd really like to have thumbnails show in the challenge stat list on our profile page!

Well, that's either not of interest (and I don't believe that) or I titled this VERY POORLY (maybe people thought I was asking for comments on one of my boring photos ;)). How about it SC, how about fixing the title for this thread to represent what I'm asking!

Well I think its fine like this, when I look at people portfolios I can easaly see if they have added anything new in
and then you can put your favorites in your bio as I do :)
What do you want the title of this thread to be?

It's a good idea Neil. I'll add my support.

Heida's idea is good too. I support you too Heida.

I would have to agree with you on this. When you add a photograph to your portfolio it shows up in you profile and pushes the others out. I would like to see it where we could pick the 5 photographs that would show up in our profile page. That way we could ask for critiques and link people to our profile page and save room in the forums. I think this is what you were suggesting? If so it gets a AGREE! From me.

That's exactly what I was suggesting.

@Heida, I do the same with my favorites in my profile, but it's a pain to do. And that still doesn't give me any control over what I show in the "recent" area. Why not let us show what we want!

As to thread title, how about "Feature: User selected photos in profile"

I think this would be good too though I get round it by putting the selection of photos I want people to focus on into my profile bio instead...

Sometimes I'll add what I consider a poor photo to my portfolio to get some feedback on it or some personal ones (such as the baby ones of me or the one of my split lip and broken tooth) to share with friends here and I don't really want those to be the ones displayed to strangers who just happen to navigate to my profile.

If you dont want people to view the images other than through links in the forums or direct urls then you can put the image(s) in your workshop and they wont show up in your most recent section.

How about a folder for "Portfolio Selections" and the first 4 in there show up as another row below/above the current 'recent' additions.

You keep what is there now, so folks will see anthing new or if something's been added AND you get a row to display selected works of your choice with less effort that stuffing them into your bio.

I have come up with a way that people can see your latest additions to your portfolio. Iâm still trying to figure out how to keep the 5 images in the ânewest additionâ area on the portfolio page the ones you want to stay there. Even though the pictures that are in my â Image linkâ under bio are not new, I have put a few from the past there to see how it would work. You can see the picture and link by visiting my profile
