What are your thoughts on every aspect of this photograph (from exposure in camera to exposure on dpc)?

Here's something funny:
I just downloaded the ability to work with channels in Photoshop Elements and was so excited about properly converting a photo to black and white that I finished editing it and never even bothered to try the colour.

I like it much better:

I agree. The color version look better to me. This would make a grat notecard stock. Good job.

Anyone else?

I also prefer the color version. The colors add a lot of interest to the photo.
I didn't find the b&w version too interesting. I like the difference between the 2 doors but the bike totaly got lost. They turned into a line that totaly blended into the monotone background. In the color version the bike are not blended into the background. They have a matching color but not identical to the background.
The composition is clearer and more interesting.
Well... that's just my opinion...

I like the color version but how about a perspective crop to line up the walls and get rid of the top that looks like a border and get ride of the open space at the bottom. Just a thought, what you think?

Hmmm...I'll play with that...

I don't think I would crop quite as much as you have but I think you are right, the bottom could be cropped more.

I kind of liked the border effect at the top but I'll have to mess around with it and see...Thanks SDW65!
