It may not mean anything to some but it did to me. Please take time to view the description. In honor of the millions of textile employees that has lost their jobs. And for some the only thing they knew how to do.

Left comment.
Hey Scott...did you try this as b/w, I had a play with it and, though I'm not very good at doing them, thought it looked pretty good.

Thank you for the comment and yes I played with b&w along with duotone. Even though the b&w did look good I felt like I should go with the colored version. I did however lose some impact by not doing some levels to bring out the color and contrast. Again thank you for your comment and reply. |

Hi, Scott. I like the image as it is, and agree that for the challenge you might have been better off bringing up the colors and contrast. However...After having read the description, I think,IMHO, that if it were brightened up, it would give it the wrong feel. I think I would try bleaching a little color out of it, to make it seem more "lost and forlorn" maybe?

I scored this a 10 Scott. An impressive graphic, a well balanced abstract, but above all and most importantly ( like your time passing entry), a very eloquent and personal statement that shows an intelligent and sensitive view of your subject. I scored this highly, not just for the "look" of the image, but more for how it made me feel when I saw it. If a picture is worth a thousand words....let those words tell a story that's worth listening to. |

Scott,
I also ranked this high, on its own graphic merits, but I see my comment (I was sure I had made one) did not get recorded. Bear in mind, btw, that we cannot see the photographer's comments as we vote, so the image has to stand on its own without the text. I had no idea at the time of voting why you were using "pains" instead of "panes."
All that said, I find the "story" moving and it gives a new dimension to an image I already had liked.
Incidentally, I too have played with it in monochrome and duotone both, and IMO it's a natural for this sort of treatment.

Fib,
Just looked at your portfolio. Very nice. You don't actually own a life-sized Woody (mannequin) do you?
