Can anyone tell me how to remove some unwanted items in images using Elements (I if it matters). In one I want to get rid of some electrical wires running through a fog scene, and in another I want to remove an imperfection in background probably caused by some smudging on the lens (ok I know, but it was at a wedding).

I think its the smudge tool but not sure and certainly not sure how to make it happen. Any help or guidance would be most appreciated

Usually you'd use the clone (rubber stamp) tool. Copy nearby/adjacent pixels over the ones you want to remove, on a separate layer if possible so your original is intact if you make a mistake.
