Hi All,
Hope you can help.
When i open my new digital photos in photoshop i get this box saying "embedded profile mismatch." And i have to select one of the following before each photo will open:
a.use the embedded colour profile (instead of the current working space)
b.convert documents colours to the working space
c.discard the embedded profile (dont colour manage)
Is it possible not to have to select one every time i open every photo for the first time?
(In case you need it: windows 2000, photoshop7, 1280x1024, 19" sony x-black flat screen, current color profile RGB: Monitor RGB- Sony SDM-HS94P _D93, DVI-D input) |

Hi,
I know what you mean the same box pops up for me everytime. I choose "b" [convert documents colors to the working space.] I do this because I want to work in Adobe RGB (1998) |

Go to "Edit", "Color Setting", then look at the bottom of the dialog box - Change to "Convert to Working RGB" or "Preserve Embedded Profile" and uncheck "Ask when opening". If you get a mismatch dialog box after that, it should have a check box to uncheck about "don't ask again". |

The "Convert to Working RGB" or "Preserve Embedded Profile" selections were greyed out so i couldnt select them, but as you said there was a box saying "dont ask again" which i selected and it works fine.
Many thanks ihall. Problem gone. |

If you have Color Management turned off, you will not be able to select one of the above choices. If you set it to Custom under Settings, then you can choose your working space. |

Sorry not exactly sure what you are telling me.
Not sure whether you are warning me or suggesting i turn off colour management, and what difference it will make if any. I like the current sony rgb working space (custom), the monitor colours look very good to me.
Thanks. |
