The idea of this image is good and sign placement according to the ROT works.

There are at lease three things negatively affecting voters on this image:
1-Oversharpening
2-Cropping
3-Main Subject

1-Oversharpening pixelated almost all lighted objects in the frame except the police or emergency vehicle streak. This is particularly visible on tree branches and the sign.

2-With a smaller crop begining just above the leftmost tree you could crop out the very distracting light at top center and remove some darker space on the right and still pretty much maintain ROT with the sign and have a tighter and more economic crop.

3-The challenge topic is yellow but the main subject of this image is the car light trails that contains no yellow.

Your other image, yellow1.jpg (The last one), would have made a much better selection for the challenge primarily because of all nice yellow on trees and street.
