I took this photo of Hualalai volcano yesterday. The weather was unusually clear, we normally donĂ¢€™t get a good view of the top. I used a polarizing filter to enhance the contrast between the sky and the clouds.

This mountain is higher then it looks, 8,271 ft.

If it every goes off I will be able to get some really interesting photos.

Nice shot! I just got back from Kailua yesterday- I was there for 2 weeks this time. Last Tuesday I saw something I had never seen before- the top of Hualalai at sunset! Unfortunately I couldn't find a good vantage point to take a picture what with needing to get to the Kona Inn for mai tais at sunset and all... |

It is pretty rare to see the top at sunset, it has been very clear, on and off, for the last few weeks. |
