Why was John's first insight locked? I read that you asked him and he requested it be locked, but with all due respect to John (and I he does have my full respect) I can't fathom to understand why the creator of a topic gets the nod for it to be locked.
It can be quite frustrating to take the time to reply to a thread (as requested) without ever seeing the result of the debate unfold over time because someone has decided it needed locking for no apparent reason.

Well ... yes because he asked, I suppose to try and move on from that discussion to the new one. Although it hasn't been acting locked -- three people seemed to have posted to it since I thought I locked it.
I can unlock it again if you (and especially if several people) think it important to -- there's no evil intended, I assure you : )

Maybe need to change the title of this thread though (or delete it) as I fear it may get in the way of the real Insight #3!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It is strange how many ideas sprout from a single seed. But to lock is to terminate all thoughts and transfer to a new controlled environment and the points that arise there will also be locked. Always the problem with guided presentations. |

If you feel it has serves its purpose I will rename, lock or hide it at your discretion. : )

I agree. It took me half a day to formulate a connection to the debate, only to be disconnected. :-(

Sorry, the fact that the thread was locked is absolutely ridiculous. I'm gonna get beat for being anal, but nobody owned that thread. How can somebody request it be locked?
I'm truly ranting, in the most accurate understanding of the word (that is, I may be displaying more passion than necessary to get my point across)...
There's not much more I can say using words.

I'm not ranting :o) but I do also feel that the thread shouldn't have been locked. Whilst Mr Setzler did indeed start and guide the discussion my feeling is that, since he did so in a public fora he renounced any ownership or absolute control over the resulting discussion. The thread belonged to all of DPC.
To then have it locked when it had fulfilled it's usefulness in his eyes but when others may still have been interested in discussing further was frustrating.

The original thread is unlocked again. I didn't actually know how to unlock them again until just now ... I had to go to work for a while in the meantime.
Feel free to comment away ... : ) |
