Hmmm...could it be the reader?
I saw in another thread that your manual is in French. Just in case you still need to download the English version, you can get it
here.
Gotta go, I'll check in later and see how you're doing with the RAW's.
Good Luck! |

| Are you using two different computers? one a laptop? and two different methods of uploading? a USB cable and a card reader? I'd like to help but am confused. |

I'm having problems only on the home computer, the laptop is fine.
Now the computer i use i try to load the images via usb and the card reader to and the raw files don't appear.
If i restart the computer i have to have the compact flash on the card reader or else it won't detect the card reader and it won't start.
But if i restart the computer with the CF in it the computer will read the CF with the new contents, so if i want to pass the photos to my computer i have to always restart my computer with the CF in it. This is the only way it will read the raw files, isn't strange?
If you can help i'll appreciate. Hope you understood now.

Are your laptop and home computer using the same operating system?
I think you may have a problem with the way the card reader is installed to the home computer. You may want to try uninstalling it, restarting your computer, and then install the card reader again. I think the computer should recognize that the card reader is installed even if there is no card in the reader, that is to say that there should be an icon for the reader in My Computer when no CF card is present. |

| I tried AdobeRGB, but since I do some of my editing in Gimp, it didn't work too well. Also, most non-pro-specific photo printing will be in SRGB anyway, so there is no conversion. Also, most of the time, you'll end in SRGB to put on the web or anything, so you have to convert it from AdobeRGB to SRGb, and you can lose some detail and have some color skew in that process. If you do extensive prepress work , AdobeRGB is the only way to go. Make sense? |

Originally posted by kirbic: BTW, with RAW files there is no such thing as using a color space (or white balance) since you are dealing with the data directly from the sensor. You apply all your chosen settings upon conversion to JPEG or TIFF. |
I don't know how the 20D works, but with 10D custom WB definately works. See my entry in "deja vu" in 2 weeks. :)
