I have received PM's from a few of you asking me to let you know if and when I hear back from Rachael as you were wondering the same things as I. Here is the response I got back today. It's not the response I was looking for, but I suppose it sounds like the business is still ready to start in March - without my photos. Best of luck to you all. I think that Rachael's response may be warranted, based on her perspective. The truth is, I wasn't going to submit any more photos until I heard some news. Apparently, she didn't like the few (7) photographs which I did submit. I see the News & Updates tab has been removed from her website now.:

From Rachael:

Hi Mike

I emailed you previously with the aim of discussing the below issues over the phone, however it seems from your response that you prefer email. We appear to have a problem with communication. During our phone conversation on 17th December we agreed that I could expect approx. 50 photos from you and we spent over half an hour discussing what kind of photographs are suitable for Pinupinoo with reference to your portfolio. I am aware that you uploaded 7 images between 22nd Dec – 17th Jan but since you have not given me any indication that you have been waiting for feedback I have continued to wait for you to upload the rest of the photographs as discussed before responding – I thought you must be busy!

All photographs that have been uploaded to our website are still pending due to a technical development being delayed; however I have been offering general feedback by email (or phone) when requested or when a photographer has uploaded a more significant number of images (at least of standard portfolio size).

It has come to my attention that you have posted messages on the DPC forum – I am somewhat disappointed that you did not feel it more appropriate to email me your question first. Whilst several photographers on DPC are also Pinupinoo photographers the two sites have no real connection. If I responded to your forum message by saying that you have not fulfilled your contract with Pinupinoo and giving the details below it would not put you in a very good light. Naturally I would not do so at this stage but I am sure you can understand where I am coming from.

Furthermore, I have since reviewed the seven photographs you have uploaded and I am very disappointed; three are the same (uploaded 3rd Jan), at least one image breaks our exclusivity clause (uploaded 22nd Dec) and the subject matter of two of the remaining three (uploaded 3rd – 5th Jan) are not in line with what we discussed in detail in our phone conversation back in December. Thus, none of the photographs you uploaded are marketable at the prices we charge our clients.

I would like to quote something you said on the forum on 30th Jan

“I have heard almost nothing for the last month from Pinupinoo.com...I have only submitted about 8 photos because all of the ones I have submitted still say Pending after well over a month. There have been no e-mail or web site updates.
I was going to be committed to this and spend a lot of time on it but things are just too quite on the other end of the line... “

The truth is that since I invested my time speaking with you in December you have not even shown the commitment of uploading the 8 photographs you claim to have done in the forum. Consequently, we perhaps are not the best kind of stock photography agency for you, and given that we are now having to start limiting the number of contributing photographers we are accepting we no longer believe you are the right photographer for Pinupinoo.

We wish you every success for the future and I trust there will be no hard feelings.

Interesting. I wonder what the response would have been had you not made that post here...

Well, it's unfortunate that my photos aren't good enough but I'm incredibly tempted to blame my 'dismissal' on the fact that she didn't appreciate my public questioning of her business practices...which in reality, I didn't do. I simply asked others if they were confused by the 'quietness' on the other end of the line. It seems that others were wondering about that as well.

I fully encourage anyone who is still involved with this to keep going. From our original conversation, Rachael sounded very informed and amicable and it seems that poor communication is one of the only negative things I can say about Pinupinoo.com.

I wish you guys (photographers and Rachael) all the best and hope this works out for all of you!

Well I too have mutually parted with Pinupinoo. Due to the 50 photos per month, while that is a very achievable target for most people I felt that I needed to devote my time in other area's as well as take more time in learning photography as a whole.

There was no animosity and it was actually at my recommendation as Rachael has other photographers who are able to devote a lot more time and effort into stock than I can or am prepared to at this time.

I too wish Racheal and all others who are apart of Pinupinoo all the best and great success.
