I'd like to print this for donation to a fund raising raffle.
It has a lot of noise in the sky.

Am wondering if there is anything I could do (effects or the like) to make this more appealing and printable (8x10).

Along with any effects - would you alter the contrast or cropping?
Thanks!

I like the crop, I would suggest some Neat Image to rid some of the noise, but some people dont like Neat Image.

You could try Neat Image to clean up the noise. (google it and you're sure to find it)

However, sometimes I like noise in pictures. And to be honest, I really like your picture the way it is!

It doesn't look like an 8x10" cropping though (you mentioned 8x10 up above). I think I would probably trim a little off the top and bottom (more off the bottom than the top) in order to get an 8x10.

Also, I happen to like borders (though most on this site do not). However, if you're going to print this ... I would definitely remove the border before printing it.

Thank you - I have Neat Image but have never tried to use it.
Yes, I kind of thought the grain might add to the old effect of this one but was worried about the print.
Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks also for the suggestion to crop for the 8x10. I hadn't thought of that. Still need to learn a lot regarding photo ratios and such.
Definitely will take that border off before printing!

Here is the Neat Imaged version:

Thats a difficult decision..depends what you want this to look like? I like pics with some noise added ( depending on the subject, but I never do that for dpc submissions unless I want to end on the last page ) What I would suggest is that you use NeatImage and you might like to try sharpening the image a little ( either neatimage sharpening or else open it again in photoshop and use USM ) and then try to add noise as you please and see what works good for you

Ok so I read your original post fully now.. i had only read about noise and used neatimage for that.. so lets see other aspects....I would love to see a little more contrast in this image.. may be something that gives an old look, a litle more burned sky will help too

I also think it would be improved a bit with a little more contrast. Nice shot.

Autumncat-
What a beautiful image...If I wasn't broke right now from x-mas presents I would buy that print from you, I just think it's excellent- the subject, the colors, it looks great. Thanks for posting, it was art to look at.

Thank you!

Here it is altered a tad - changes noted in the notes section of the photo.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions (and unexpected compliments)!
