I certainly can't complain, especially since it's a shot that I essentially grabbed while engaged in another activity. It's doing better than I thought, for sure.

hope it stays there or round about there... I need some encouragement after a bunch of 4's in the last couple of competitions. personaly, my best so far even if I have to say so myself. Amazing the confidence in a shot you know you did your best... Thanks to all of you giving such valuable feedback.

I'm pretty happy with this but I was over 6 for a bit yesterday, I sure would like to finish there. I am not sure this will be a high standing, though, since I think this is a pretty high scoring challenge. I am predicting this will only be about 70 percentile (though I'd really be happy if it were 80 or more).

Manic ... you certainly know how to kill a forum ;-) talk about a great score, personal best, new camara and maybe a ribbon?!? Wow, what else can you add, hmmm ... lets see Santa is bringing you a new lens!?!? Just playing with you here. Myself, I'd be doing a dance if I had the 20D and the score would be the after thought.
Great score, I'd be dancing too and you also seem to be the comment hog here.

Hmmm, ok I'll just say my shot is my personal best and I'm very happy with my double digit comments.
But most of these shots in this challenge are just stunning!

All my comments pretty much point me in the same direction...which sucks for me because I really thought my entry would do well. The subject that I shot has been shot by a couple photog's in the area and they've told me they had gotten really great results (which is why I drove all the way there).
I guess in the end it all comes down to lighting, angle, and overall composition :-( I'll get there some day, I swear!
edit: oh yeah, it was selected for a favorite, which probably means just as much to me as a top 20'ish finish anyway...thanks.

5.90 hope it will be 6 at the end. It was between 5.81 and 5.92 all the time.

Im sinking.... every update for the past day....
hehehe.
This has been my most up and down score yet. After 8 votes I was at 6.7 (knew that couldnt last), after about 50 was down to 5.8.... then peaked at 6.22 after like 175.
Now at 197 votes I'm at 6.15.
Thanks to the 15 commentors (strangely considering this is my best score they aren't as positive as my other entries :)). |

jolly well done - i think i might suspect which shot is yours, and if so, it'll be one of only two i've commented on so far. if it is, then i had it down as a winner and it'll be thoroughly deserved. spiffing stuff. |

You've gotta have a shot at a ribbon with that one, though I'd say the blue will probably be over seven in this challenge. |

Thought I was doing ok until I got this thread going! Great job to all who entered in the Landmarks challenge. It looks like it will be a tough one.

LOL...same here. I knew after voting that a 5.8 is nothing special in this contest and that has been confirmed with this thread. However, on a positive note:
-My highest score in my fourth entry (each one has improved)
-My first favourites
-Maintaining my average goal of 5.5 since my first two challenges and this is also true with my yellow submission.
- Did I mention it is my highest score (ran out of positive notes)

Well, mine would be my 4th highest, but I have had many more opportunities to blow it than your four! : )
My average could also use a boost due to a recent thrashing in several challenges.
Yellow entry is doing OK as well.
