Woohoo... I entered a competition for the best photo taken at the Glastonbury Festival 2004, and although I didn't get one of the 3 winning photos, 2 of my photos are in the 7 highly commended photos.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting to do well at all... I feel my photography has got a lot better since Glasto, which was my first festival of the year, and my first stab at gig photography.
I'm really surprised with their choice of my photos, out of the five I sent them.
Here's the email I just got:
Dear Bob Rose
Glastonbury Festival is very pleased to announce that, with well over a
thousand pictures to choose from, two of your photographs (see attached)
have been chosen amongst the seven highly commended pictures and will
subsequently be appearing on the Official Glastonbury website.
Dick Vernon, a member of the judging panel, said: ³We¹re delighted that so
many people took part and so clearly enjoyed the festival. It was a pleasure
to see so many excellent photographs.²
Michael Eavis, Festival organizer and chair of the judges felt the winning
three photographs reflected the energy, enthusiasm, enjoyment and diversity
of the Festival.
Full results of winners and those highly commended will be appearing on the
Official Glastonbury website  //www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk  in
the next few days.
Once again, congratulations and thank you for helping to define the
Glastonbury Festival 2004.
Best wishes,

Here are the 2 pictures that made it:
At the very least, this should make my job of getting a press pass for next year's festival much easier. |
