Wohoo! No more banding! I can't wait to install and test it out.
Hope my camera doesn't explode! With Canon's recent track record, you never know! LOL!

WOOHOO! Thanks Doctornick.. I've been waiting for this..
* The phenomenon of horizontal line noise appearing in images taken at high ISO settings while using the internal flash has been fixed.
I have serious problems with this.. Here are good examples of TERRIBLE banding:
Big Jump Event
Gonna install this once I know it's safe. :-)
edit: PS: It says internal flash, but the problem exsist with 550Ex also (under cold conditions)

I've had that banding even without using a flash, just at high ISO... Installed the firmware... Camera hasn't exploded yet ;) |

I've only seen the banding in one image so far, and it wasn't a flash shot in my case either..
Still, being a geek I downloaded the firmware update and applied it.. No problems, and now I can use the camera in Russian, which is just, well, handy I suppose..
