Hi

I planning to buy a cheap lens. I have 2 lens for same price.

70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Zoom-Nikkor ( //www.nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=5&productNr=1928 )

SIGMA AF70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL MACRO SUPER II ( //www.sigma-photo.com/html/pages/70_300_ms2.htm )

So if any have some experience with this lens please tell me more ...

thanks

I've tried both and didn't like either one. :-) So I went for the 80-400mm Nikkor VR. It's not cheep though. I hope someone can help you on this. :-)

Try buying secondhand my friend.. both the mentioned lenses i feel are not very good quality and for the same price you could find Sigma EX glass that is way better .. I think you can get a 28-200mm nikonD/AF 3.5-5.6 for that price have a look around if you go with new and cheap you will regret it.. better to buy secondhand and semi-decent even if it has a few marks on it. just my opinion.

I would suggest the APO version of the Sigma.

70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II

I have this one and it is definately worth $180.

i have tried both and i second cbeller on the apo sigma.
i have the apo super II, and it's much better than the nikkor G in terms of build quality.
i got mine new for 184 on ebay. you can find 'em cheaper in some places.

it has it's limitations, but if you work within those, it can generate some great images. a couple of my best shots have been made with this lens :)

I'd save up for a Nikkor vs. the Sigma... But avoid that Nikkor 70-300G at all costs. I haven't seen a good review anywhere on the Internet, and have been very disappointed in mine. The Nikkor 70-400VR seems to be a popular choice, as is the 80-200 f/2.8. Both of those are quite expensive though.

Some other thoughts for eBay:
Nikon 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6D IF AF Zoom-Nikkor
Nikon 70-210mm f/4-5.6D AF Zoom-Nikkor

With a telephoto zoom, you really don't want to skimp unless you're just going for grab shots where image quality isn't as important as getting the shot (ie - photojournalism, street). If you're doing nature or fine art, you really want to save up and get the right lens to start with.

Good advice. I have a cheapy Tamron 70-300 and it spends most of its time in a box on the shelf. :(
