Some of the comments in my Macro Challenge have been bugging me lately. Not because they were bad, but because I had done this at the last minute, I didn't give it the look that I should have. Would the new image have done any better?
This is the image I entered:
This is the image through some more attention:
It's a picture of a Bawls caffeine drink bottle in probably the worst lighting that I could have used, and certainly was rushed through capture all the way through post-processing.
Thanks for the constructive comments.

The cleanup does help. But as a macro entry, I don't know that it would have helped much. Personally, on a macro shot I want to see something that is sort of recognizable - whether as a part or a whole. In the macro context, my first thought is "macro what"?
In an abstract challenge, it probably would have done better (and benefited from the changes you just made). However, while there's some appeal in the color, there's still something missing in the form. There aren't any strong lines or other visual elements that draw your eye for very long. Ultimately, it looks to me like something that probably looked cool in three dimensions, but didn't capture well as a photo.

Thanks Scott
That's kinda what I thought too. THis was a last minute change that I wasn't all that thrilled with.
On that note, here's the outtake, how would it have fared?
