To me, this site has been a 'Submit the best photo you can with the following restraints... A particular topic (including at least one that limited how you take your photo... One light source), a 'small' size, a compressed file format, a small resolution, time limit, etc.' I don't see a problem with maintaining 'no spot editing' as one of those restraints. That's part of the Challenge in my eyes...

There is also no reason to know any advanced features to do spot editing on a photo. Using a clone tool to remove hot or other unwanted pixels is a matter of a couple of clicks, and doesnt require any advanced techniques.

One-step enhancement (known in various software packages as Auto Levels, Enhance, Intellihance, Quick Fix, etc.)

This brings me to this question...I have a plugin called PhotoKit I am trying out. It has many different types of corrections. One I have messed with on some of my older photos is called edge sharpen. I watch it work and it ends up making a find edges, inverse, blur, and then it selects the edges and unsharp masks them. Now, if I didn't watch and understand what it was doing...I could think this is a one step enhancement, even though it is adjusting pixels and not the whole picture. which also brings a question about NeatImage. I run Mac, so I have no idea how it works or what it actually does. But it sounds like it has the ability to rid hot pixels. Is that true?
