I was (am still) trying to comment on all or most of Low Tech. My hat's off to those who have done this in challenges. It's a lot of work! I may not succeed because I do tend to spend 5-10 minutes on each as I comment. But I will hit as many as possible.

Now, I am hoping this will inspire OTHERS to get out there, comment, and VOTE. There don't seem to be a lot of voters for Low Tech compared to Humor II. Everyone's opinion is important.

NOTE: For those who get my comment, I learned a week or so ago to point out as a disclaimer: you are not seeing my score come in with my comment. I don't comment at the same time as I vote. So if someone coincidentally gives you a score at the same time you get my comment, it is NOT from me.

5 to 10 minutes on each entry?

WOW...I spend....maybe a minute max 2.

I think that a good part of the fun on this site is actually getting a comment. I try to comment as much as I can and am making a personal pledge to comment on at least 50 entries from whatever challenge I happen to vote on. As well, I'm starting to randomly select members and commenting on their portfolio. Why not, it doesn't take much and if it puts a smile on someone's face, its worth it.

To give you an idea, and time it myself, I just did one (and not one of my longer ones). That was 9 minutes!

Edt: Two more: average 6 minutes each. Definitely not going to make it through all of these!

Hi-ho,

I'd say if I comment on an image it takes me 2-3 minutes per image for a good image (IMHO, obviously) but if it's an image I've voted low I agonise over it for ages, and wind up taking 5 minutes or so.

It's very easy to just say 'Your lighting was junk, didn't like it' but being constructive, and not negative takes me a bit of time..

Cheers, Me.

not low tech, but I have made 91 comments in the 7 challenge so far and have averaged 332 keystrokes per comment. lol I'm only at 32% or something for commenting and voting. Hope to make it through. I should be able to. I've only done 2 commenting sessions and have Sunday off, so looks promising.

All the votes and comments particularly from the "Masters" those with ribbons are appreciated.

So their time spent critiquing your work is more appreciated than those who have not ribboned? I don't see the sense in that statement one bit. You need little to no experience to give helpful feedback and just because you're not a 'master' doesn't mean your critique shouldn't be appreciated just as much as the next guy.

Mine was one of the Lucky 7 comments you made, and it brightened my day, helping me understand for the first time why it was being scored lower that I thought it deserved. Your "five and two halves, technically" comment cracked me up! Thanks, kiddo. (And now you know which one is mine... don't tell!)

edit for clarity
