I commonly browse fatwallet for good deals, and came across this. sorry if someone has already posted it. it's a huge YMMV, because it basically depends on the manager being lenient with the sears 'local store' policy (unless you actually live in NY, where the store you try to price match is at). anyway, worth a try i figure - what's an hour of your time, if you actually save the big moola? let me know if it works for anyone - especially if you're from southern california - i'm thinking of trying it this weekend.
