How can Walmart make money with an offer like this?

$6.88 gets you one 10x13, two 8x10s, four 5x7s, four 3 1/2 x 5s and 32 wallets.
People are flocking to them. I guess it get's them in the door, but then people expect cheap photos from a quality photographer...

Thats just crazy!!!! But the new Barney and blues clues background draws em in if they don't know any better> I actually tell people, and I really dont care if it hurts my business, to go to walmart if they want walmart pics. Most still like the stuff I do, so I am doing something right?

A German shop called Saturn offered 100 10x15 prints for 10€. That's not bad either, the only problem was to carry them there. I'm not expecting a good quality of prints, though.

The Costco I usually go to has 12x18 prints for $2.99. You can gang up a lot of large and small images on those.

Also a handy way to print two 6x18 (3:1) or three 6x12 (2:1) panoramics.

I've heard a rumor that Costco will soon offer the ability to upload photos via the internet and pick them up at your local store, simalar to what Ritz Camera does now.

Bussines as usual by Walmart .
After they killed all competitors, now they are after drugstores and mom and pop small one-hour and other photo stores!
They will make the money on other products later :-)

Yeah that is cheap I used to take my oldest son there almost every other month in 2001 but everytime I just knew all I wanted was 1 pose for the special order and I always ended up wanting the other 5 poses and thats where they get ya, sometimes spending $150.00 on all poses. Shoot I havent done that in long time well since 2001. I like my photos now best :) And the Kodak Photo print thing is much cheaper..

Walmart does the 'net thing too. works well. 1 hour is more expensive than 3 day service.

I pay $nz8.00 for 8"x12" matte enlagements from either Digital or film. All of them are corrected thru P/S and printed on a Frontier printer on Fuji crystal archive paper by one of this countries top printers, Paul Bright at Bright Photo Lab,Waikanae. N.Z.
