Hi everyone,
I bought my 300D about two weeks ago and yesterday, I did my first "photoshoot" with it. I put photoshoot between quotes as it was more an exercise in lighting and seeing what this new camera could do and frankly, I'm pretty pleased with it.

We first tried to do something which would only use the light emitted by the candles but quickly came to the conclusion that it wasn't going to work. (I need to look into how to so something like that so if you have any suggestions, let me know)
We ended up using one 500W spot bouncing off a wall because we still wanted to have soft lighting.
The wall was beige which helped us keep that orangish lighting feeling we were looking for.

I singled out one shot which I like a lot and thought I'd share it in hopes of getting comments.

Thank you in advance!

I have to agree. The lighting there is just sensational, and it makes for a very tastefully sexy shot.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. :)

bigfish, I'll try and take some time at lunch break to send you an email explaining why I took the 300D over the D70 as it's a little more complicated than a yes or no. ;)

Incredibly lit, as far as I'm concerned...I really want to learn more about how to set up a "make-do" studio and I've wondered if the 500w worklights would do the trick...Space isn't a big issue and I can build whatever it takes but I don't want to spend a couple thousand dollars.

Any help?

This is what I'm using right now.

I bought 2 of the OPL-M401 kit which retailed at 120$CAN each and use the 500W lights instead of the flashes. (Didn't know there was a kit for 2 which includes a carrying case at the time otherwise I'd have bought that.)

I think it's a cheap kit to start with and you can pretty decent resulst.
