I know that you have to keep dimensions under 640, but i am curious what resolution people use for submitting. right now my pics is 640x268 w/ a res. of 210 and that leaves it to be 3.048 x 1.276
this seem about right? you'd think this was my first submission right? :-)

DPI is only relevant for printing, which is not limited as the challenge entries are. I try to keep my entries with the long side about 636 (a hair under just to be safe). When I print, I do so at about 300 DPI, 200 at the lowest.

My camera spits them out at 180. Anything from about 150-300 is good for printing. The web only requires 72...but I usually just leave them at 180 instead of messing with it.

DPI is for printing ONLY and has nothing to do with the on screen display size of a picture.

Change the DPI to 72 or 900 and the picture will display the same on your monitor, size wise. It will print differently depending upon the DPI you have set.
