Got this shot at our local bird park today....just hatched gosling, mum still sitting on the rest of the eggs. She was turning the eggs while I took this pic.
I call them the fraggle geese, but apparently they are some special breed........they just look like they're always having a bad hair day!!

The fact that the duckling seems to be looking right at you.. with one heck of an inquisitive glance.. really makes this shot.
Great find.

She'd made her nest right next to the emu enclosure. Very luckily the mesh is fine chicken wire, the emu would have no hesitation grabbing the chick.
It was quite amazing ...sat for ages watching mum and the baby. Dad kept an eye on me though
