Unfortunately, the former 3rd place finisher has been disqualified for failing to provide originals for all elements in the entry.
Congratulations to the new HM. |

Mark, you know how I feel about this. I changed the lantern on the coach and some part of the sky, less than 5% of the image.
You have suspended me and I can no longer update my Landscape entry for Round 2 of DPL. My current entry is a placeholder.
I can therefore congratulate your team on winning with my team in advance. I am out of DPL as I don't care about playing for 3rd place. I am unlikely to return if dpchallenge continues to DQ images on such petty bases. |

DQ wording bothers me a little, because we are allowed to draw/paint elements in extended and no original will exist. Is this dq for incorporating non photo images? (used to be the 'no clip art' rule) |

So what's the answer to this? |

In Extended Editing you may:
"use any feature of image processing software to manipulate/enhance the images in your submission."
I used to spend hours masking and cloning, these days it is a child's play. The image processing software will mask for you any area of the image in one click, distraction removal will do the same. Times have changed, what used to be difficult is now accessible to everyone. It is time that SC Validation process acknowledged that.
I believe this is an unfair DQ and should be reversed, especially that it has also disadvantaged my DPL team as I no longer can enter a better image in Landscape. |
