For christmas I am asking for a better camera... Any ideas?

If your budget is around $300, I would buy a Fujifilm s5100... for the money, it is the best camera on the market right now, IMHO. The one drawback is that it uses xd cards, which are a bit pricey right now.
If it is around $500, I would consider the new Olympus c7000, 7mp and 5x optical zoom. It looks like a winner, although I have never used it. Once again, you would be using an xd card. I previously owned an the Olympus d450 for five years and never had a problem with it.
