Hi,
I am so computer illiterate it is embarrassing. My computer technician told me some time ago, that my PC can no longer be upgraded to what I need (I am stuck with Photoshop 2020). So I need to look into "something new".
I have an old Macbook Pro 15 (which is stuck on PS 2024 ...) that can't be updated.

To be very, very honest unlike some people, I don't really feel a difference between a Mac and a PC other than the price.

I have now got this quote for a new PC. I really only need it for the most basic Word, Excell, Thunderbird, Firefox applications and for my photography.

My main question is (without anybody having a crystal ball, I get that) would this be "enough" of memory, graphics, RAM, whatever to last for a few years of Adobe upgrades?

There's some mismatch in the specs posted,

RTX 3050 6GB DDR5 is a GPU (graphics card) - but lower in specs we see a RTX 5060 8GB listed which is much newer and superior. Which one is it that you're getting?

Anyway, both should do fine. Overall the PC specs are great, 32GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB NVME SSD (for operating system only!) is all anyone could dream of.
(I recommend adding another NVME, 2TB or 4TB for your "current year photography". If your catalog is much bigger, keep older years of photos on a slower, cheaper, bigger drive.)

Almost all computer hardware from the last 10-15 years should be able to run any version of Adobe software. The old Macbook Pro, from what year is it? The only thing limiting it to old versions of Adobe software is the operating system - have you updated the OS to the latest supported version? I've seen 10 year old Mac's doing just fine with latest versions of Adobe.

That being said, I run a Macbook Pro M4 Pro 48GB and a PC Intel i9 12900K 96GB DDR5 + RTX 4080 Super - and Adobe Lightroom works MUCH better on the Mac, unfortunately. My entire career for 30 years has been based on Adobe After Effects and a few years ago when Apple Silicon was introduced and Adobe updated much of its software to support Apple Silicon, the performance improvements were incredible versus the PC (and older Macs), and I much prefer working on the Mac for Adobe stuff.

You have the first line saying:

and then:
Processor(CPU) : Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU
Graphics Card : Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 8GB Gaming Graphics Card

That first line then should be:
Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus RTX 5060 8GB DDR5

or something similar. I think you have these specs mixed up.

I recently upgraded my RTX 2080 GPU to RTX 5060, my CPU is already 7 years old and works fine even with much more demanding 3D software. I have 2TB NVMe as the main working drive and 20 TB HDD for backups.

Do you use AI? Just ask Google AI what specs for a new PC for Adobe Photography apps to last, say, 7 years, it will tell you including where to get it where you live for the best price :)
