Hi! I was wondering if any of you creative genuises had any great ideas for inexpensively gifting my photos to family and friends... something other than just framing them and handing them over. I've thought about doing a collage of sorts using pieces from different photos (some recognizable, but some just patterns and colors), but that doesn't excite me too much and I don't know how to present it (shadow box, maybe?)... does anyone have any ideas that would be relatively inexpensive ($25 or under)? Thanks for any advice. :)

How about notecard sets? You can get blank cards from craft places like JoAnn or office supply stores for fairly cheap or you can get the photo frame cards from places online. You can usually make these for under $1 a card. You could make a set of ten cards that are blank on the inside and put them in a box.

If the photos are family photos or friend photos and are value to them, how about making a slide show and giving them a CD-ROM? Or a DVD video if they don't have a computer.

Another idea: a couple of years ago I gave my clients photo puzzles; I gave them electronic ones, using a program called BrainsBreaker. In each case I used a photo of them or that was meaningful to them. You could also make and give real puzzles.

Both of these gifts have little 'material' value, but to me, home made gifts are the best kind, especially when individual thought went into them.

If giving artistic shots, then I suggest 8x10 or 11x14 framed photos.

Thanks for the great ideas! I think I'll take some of your advice-- does anyone else have any ideas? :)

I would like to make a 2005 calendar out of our family pictures ... anyone know of a good place for printing the calendars?

Make a screensaver for their computer (the executable type that you can share around) - the program I have for making them is called Imagine Carousel, but there must be better ones around.

Doh, not gifts for you, gifts from you!

Calendars, printed online. Photo Trinkets (Mugs, buttons, hats, mousepads).

I might like that, but my family probably wouldn't know what to do with them. ;)
