Challenge Details: Create one still life and then photograph it three different ways by keeping the point of view the same, but changing the lighting each time.
Create a triptych of your final results.

Good day.. Excuse my ignorance.. I would appreciate a clarification because it is my first time to create a triptych.
1.) What if the camera moves a tiny bit? I just use a phone and I don’t have a tripod. I will do my best to keep the camera in the same position, but if it shifts by a few millimeters, is that still acceptable?
2.) I will try my best to explain this next question: For the triptych, should each panel show the exact same full composition, with only the lighting changed? Or can each panel be a crop/different portion of the same scene, as long as the lighting is what changes? In other words, should all three panels show the same framing, or is variation in framing allowed?

Thank you... 🤍

Good questions!

The following responses are my understanding of the challenge and how it pertains to your questions.

1) Slight movement is understandable and IMO totally acceptable.
2) I think, in the spirit of the challenge, that the compositions presented (the 3 panels) in the triptych should be the same with the only difference being the lighting used.

In regard to the above two scenarios, these are in the spirit of the challenge theme IMO. Technically NOT doing those wouldn't automate a DQ but could impact your results by voters.

The one thing that would generate a DQ is not meeting the following EXTRA special rule for this challenge:

This challenge REQUIRES 3 different images arranged in either a vertical or horizontal layout. Otherwise, all Standard editing rules still apply. Entries without exactly 3 combined images will be DQ'd.
