National Parks are a hit or miss right now with the government shutdown.
My wife and I went on a road trip today to a National Park. When we left this morning there was no notice of it being closed. When we got there a couple hours later, the park was closed. No entrance allowed. We found a way in via another local park that had some back trail connections and we hiked in. We enjoyed our outing overall and did get to see some wonderful views without any crowds (only a few people around that had done the same). I just checked the NPS site for this location and now they have an alert (dated today) that the park is closed.
One of the other National Parks in our area is advertising that they are still providing services (the concessions that are contracted out for lodging and food) and inviting people to come visit. Go figure.
Anyway. Just thought I'd give you all a heads up. I'm not saying what park at the moment. Might have picked up a photo or two to use in an upcoming challenge. :-)

Well, since I'm not using any photos from that outing ... :-) It was Great Falls (went to the VA side). |

| That had to be disappointing, but it is good you were able to find a way to enjoy some of the park. |
