I can't find this information anywhere. How many of each team's percentile placements count towards the team's score for each challenge. I know it's the best ones that are used, but how many of them?
Thanks |

Have fun, everyone! I would have liked to have joined, but I'm on the road for the month with no ability to participate. I hope to return soon, though. |

From the DPL FAQ:
4 - How does the scoring work?
There are two parts to this:
Team Member Scores - Each week, there are two challenges that count for DPL - member (Sunday/Monday) and OPEN (Tuesday/Wednesday). Paid members may enter either or both, while registered members may enter the Open challenge. The 4 best scores of team members are averaged together to make the Team Score for that week. A team member may only contribute one score each week to the team score.
Team Scores - Once the team score has been calculated from the team member scores, the team with the highest score wins that week's match. |

So when I made my team, I didn't realize the percentage cut off and it was too high so I had to dis-invite half the team.
But now, after I sent out my last invite it said my team percentage was 56% ish percent and now it is 60.7%. So do I have to remove someone again and start over? The percentage thing seems kind of finnicky.
EDIT:
Now I'm really not sure what's going on.
One place says I'm at 56% and another place says I'm at 60.7%. I guess I'll just let SC take care of this

Doing the math, the 60.7% number is correct. |

60.7% is indeed the correct team average. I suspect the other number takes into account challenges completed after the DPL announcement date. It will be fixed soon.
I notice you have an open invitation. If it is accepted then hopefully your team average will be within the limits (the new member should have a seed average of 55% or below)

You say in the initial post: "So, let's get all the wayward DPCers back into the fold and have some fun this summer!"
With cap 55% and latar raised to 60%. Seriously? A lot of people are seeing this as an opportunity to get the gear back out and not the least, the company of fellow photographers. In the enthusiasm to participate with old friends, I paid for a membership, only to find out that the competition has been watered out for the smartphone photographers. Shame! |

I'm sorry, not quite sure what you mean by "watered out for the smartphone photographers". Can you elaborate?
As far as the 60% cap, that's been put in place to create a more level playing field for all. |

As Barry mentioned, the cap is there to level the field for all. It makes teams of mixed talents. Anyhow, we had no intention to mislead anyone, so if you decide not to participate then we will issue a refund for the payments made.

Well, in my opinion, the way to ressurrect DPC League and bring lost members back is not to lower the bar so they cannot team up with old friends, but instead the bar should be kept high, so people have to push it to get good scores. But... that´s just my viewpoint! |

welp, I miscalculated and my team is full but we're at 60.2%. These may readjust before it's time to finalize correct?

Totally agree. The 60% team average cap makes it nearly impossible for old competitive teams to reunite without dropping someone. Id honestly rather skip competing than kick out an enthusiastic friend just to meet the threshold. |

Not weighing in on either side of this exactly, but I've been thinking for days that, even if it means an "uneven field", I'd way rather play than not. I'll bet most of us who are signed up would say the same. |

Last DPL league I participated in, a long time ago, the teams were divided into 2 divisions. It would have been very easy to do the same... and devide the teams into divisions after seeding. One division for teams with cap over 60 or 65 and another for lower teams. If this is to promote photography and inspiring people to improve, don´t lower the bar! |

Yes, I have participated in most DPL since DPL season 1 and mostly as a part of the same team. As it seems my team wont be able to participate this time because of the 60% cap. Dissapointed. |

Of course it is lowering the bar. Put everyone in the same mold. Everyone gets a prize. Seriously... this is at my 8 year old daughter´s tournaments, but here? I´d like to see you introduce this fantastic model to other competitions. "Alright... everyone in the same league, but all the strongest teams must send some of their strongest players to the other teams, so they will be better too!" It´s a joke, really! Oh, well. Have fun, guys! |

For me the best part of DPL was the team meeting in person, doing shoots together, sharing equipment, collaborate on editing etc. Our team is fortunate to live very close to make this possible. Thats why I would like to keep my team. |

Hi. It would have been so great to get our team that was made here, on this side, together again and take pictures again❤️
I really saw it as an opportunity to get in touch again and have some fun together😌
Dividing us is not the same and we probably will just withdraw. It was a lovely thought though❤️
Best wishes though, hope you will re-think the rules but if not - have fun and enjoy❤️ I know we sure did!

possibly some of us are here to learn (and all the enjoyment and pain that may involve), not to win. |

The total point is to have fun and encourage all to take better photos. Not to tell the better ones to weaken their teams. This is just plain silly, really. Why bring everyone down to the lower levels? If this is a league, then accept that there will be teams that are strong and there are teams that are weak. If you do that, then what's stopping you to have fun? |
