I tried to mess around with some clouds today to help my sky photo's a bit. The cloud on the lower right was not there at all, does it look O.K. Had to remove the fence and then put it back in, to get the clouds behind it.

i think it looks really good, i did notice that to the left of the fence a tiny bit there is one squiggly line that looks unnatural it is kinda bluish grey

Its not a bad effort but the lower cloud does look a bit unatural, in a sort of line across the middle, looks like the use of the smudge tool?

There's not that much natural cloud to work with to build new one out of.

Have you thought about replacing the entire sky with another one that you have a shot of?

Blackdog, I have, but just wanted to try to manipulate the clouds to try to get better at it. There maybe times that I do not have another sky to put in.

OK, I see where you're coming from. I think you've set quite a challenge for yourself on this shot, as I said there's not much real cloud to work with.

The main problem is that you don't have real cloud with an edge all the way around to get the right lighting for the cloned cloud. Not without repeating quite a bit and it becoming noticeable.

Sorry riotspyne but I think it looks quite unnatural. I just asked my wife, without telling her anything about the image and she said, "That sky doesn't look right, it looks like somebody has painted that cloud in there."

So I guess it does look like a cloud but, not quite like the real one next to it.

I'm not knocking your efforts here, it notoriously difficult to fabricate something like this from scratch. I'm just trying to give an honest opinion.

Edited for typo
