What I'm saying (and I apologize, I'll try to be more clear next time) is that why would God spend so much time creating when he could do it in 6 days? I also doubt that God would've been working on the theory of evolution, because the bible says against it, that earth was created in 6 days. I'd personally rather believe that God did what the bible said instead of possibly crediting him with some absurd theory that the bible never backs. To say that I'm questioning God's ability is to disregard what the bible is says. Again, I'm sorry for not being clearer in what I said, so much so that you had to attack my personal opinion. I'll try to clarify next time. My bad. |
The problem here is that you take days as in calendar days. I really doubt that god's is working with the same time table as us. Could it be that genesis' "days" are more like "periods of time"
If you believe the big-bang theory, then you believe that the celestial bodies formed up, the the earth that was a bublle of molten lava cooled down to allow creation of continents (well A continent, no 's', at that time, but that's not important right now) and water bodies, then plants began to grow, the animals and, if we include evolution here, humans followed. Now I'm not quite sure about the six days of the creation, but I believe they follow quite the same order.
So maybe Big-bang is just a tribute to god's power
Same thing about evolution. Darwin said himself that his theory in no way contradicts God's existence.
The genesis is a attempt to explain things using the knoledge they had at that time, and I think they could not have done better.
Why is it always "Science vs Religion"? This was this guy (I call him Al, I think Einstein was his last name) who said "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind" |
