I recently took and used it in the May Free Study.
The scene was just outside a local establishment, and I thought the man probably worked or volunteered there and was on his break. So a week or so after taking it, I put a couple of small prints (4x6 and a second cropped to 5x7) in an envelope and took them by to leave for him; I included my email address.
This morning I found this message in my box: "My name is X and you took a picture of me sitting in my power chair reading a book at the Eagles club in X. My son really liked it and was wondering if could get what he called the file of that picture. I really don't understand what he wants so i thougth i would send you the email. Please if you need any more information email me or call me at ###-###-####.
thank you for your time"
It's things like this that keep me snapping.

What a poignant reminder that art is fundamentally meant to be shared and that the gift of seeing is also an opportunity to serve. :-) |
