I took some test shots last night of this pretty lady with just gorgeous eyes, and was just wondering what y'all think about the overphotoshopped glamour shot? I like the original also, but I am trying to work out a technique for face shots that would work well for senior pictures. The low res image here seems a bit mottled, but the image I have is MUCH smoother. Thanks to anyone that would like to comment.

Nice direction, generally speaking, but with this particular implementation i think a face not having a nose just looks very weird.

Thanks yura. That nose(or lack of it) kind of bugged me too. I will need to leave a bit more?

Maybe I am not daring enough, but the original is just too good to mess with. A strong black and white would be fine, but I don't think you need to add interest with extreme processing. I would reserve that for the noses that need to fade into the face a bit. Experimentation is good, this is just my opinion on which results I like the most.

I agree about the nose, but what kills the hi-key one for me is the hat. It doesn't translate well.

The original is very nice. And the experiment is still good.

I appreciate the feedback! Those were the honest views I was hoping for. Its nice to have opinions from other photographers.

Great portrait, I like the original! The lack of a nose as people mentioned and the purple/pink fringing kinda distracts me. Great model!

ps: What lens did you use?

If by senior pictures you mean for the graduating class, not oldtimers like me, you should stick with original type and use the overphotoshopped glamour approach for something else. Senior pictures are supposed to document what a person looks like at an important point in their life; unless, of course, they are graduating from a modeling school.
