There have been so many outstanding photographers on DPC. It is difficult to pick one but I have always been a fan of Gyaban. I realized that I have just passed him in "Ribbons" and decided to calculate how many ribbons he would have if he had entered as many challenges as I. It is a very humbling statistic!! I have entered 1717 challenges and have 162 ribbons and 113 honorable mentions. Gyaban had 254 entries. If He had an equal number of entries comparatively speaking he would have 1082 ribbons and 121 honorable mentions!!!! And this was when there were a lot more active members. I consider him the Babe Ruth of DPC!
Who is your favorite DPC member of all time?

+1
I started in 2010 so I did NOT know any of the earlier great photogs except for ursula. I believe Christophe is incredible on all levels - creativity, skills, conceptual thinking, communication of his art.
PS Congrats on making TT of all time ribbons, I should still stay there for a bit although I am sliding down and down ;)

Member/Photographer might be the same to you but to me they are two different things.
But in either case I would never put a name out there. I've met, personally and virtually, and respect so many DPC members for so many different reasons, not all of them related to photography:)
And I could not say I favorite one over another.
.... now if you had asked for a personal all time favorite DPC photo, IDK... maybe that I could find. Maybe. Top 10 might be interesting.

In his early career he was an excellent pitcher himself -- until not that long ago (in baseball terms) he held the record for consecutive scoreless innings in the World Series. |

I must say, I miss the days when DPC folks would have get togethers all over the country. We had a group that used to gather every year at Rickett's Glen State Park in Eastern Pennsylvania, and we always had such a blast. I met so many fellow members and made some really lasting friendships during those times. I can remember meeting up with other folks in Texas, Florida, Washington DC, Ohio, Montana, Missouri, and closer to home in the Pittsburgh area.
I don't know if other folks may be doing any of that anymore? There were certainly a lot of people on those trips who I would call my "favorites." |

Unfortunately I didn't get to meet anyone during my working years. Then came Covid. I did have the opportunity to get together with Bear_Music on a visit to Boston. That was the good thing about DPC. You could still have the camaraderie even when life was hectic.

It's been so long since we've seen him that I had forgotten him. I resoundingly second your "nomination"... |

Just wondering, what is it about his photography that you like so much? |

he has a preternatural ability to find a stunning composition of lights and darks in whatever he's near. most of his photos are of mundane times and places, but there is nothing mundane about the photo. |
If I was going to pick someone with unique views on photography, as a fav, I'd pick NiallOTuama. Way more interesting that the work of nick, IMO. And of course, all of this is subjective to personal opinion. :-)
