The rain decided to try elsewhere for a wee change today, so I packed the gear in my bag and hoofed it down to the banks of the River Carron about a mile or two from my house and came across this little Goldcrest playing in the branches of a small tree.
It took me about 20 shots before I got something I was happy with as the little b****r wouldn`t sit at peace !!
Very pleased to get a pic of the smallest bird in Europe as they normally stay out of shot, way up in the fir trees.

You`re very welcome Kylie..I`ve still got more and may add to the thread again...the Goldcrest is between three and three and a half inches long and 1/4 oz in weight.

Gordon - Great shot on a hard to photograph bird. What lens did you use? |

Canon 70-200F4 L at F4..1/80th..ISO 100...I really made things difficult for myself by forgetting to crank up the ISO speed to get a bit of leeway with shutterspeed & aperture...luckily though, it turned out OK.
Thanks to all for the comments.
