| I was going for about 550 photos on the BWII challenge, but now I don't know what to say. I took all week to get through "Macro w/o," at 20 seconds to evaluate each image, you would spend almost 4 hours voting. Statistically speaking, the growth of 114 pictures over the last open challenge (529-643), predicts a gain of 128 photos ± 6%, that's 771 photos (with a range of 725-817 photos) for "Authority." Place your bets now! |

A bit similar to the heroes challenge, i see this being in the range of 200-300. The fact that the past two challenges have been so high in the amount of submitters is due to the fact that they were very broad subjects that everyone could find and enter with a certain amount of ease. The less broad the topic (i.g. "Wacky Foods") the fewer the entrants due to the creative and realistic complications that those subjects deal with.

Agreed -- BW was open ended to any subject. Authority is much more specific and will require time, thought and maybe some planning ahead. Add to that, those pesky holidays which are sneaking up on some of us and require a lot of time. Is Santa considered an authority figure? If so I may have an out! Take the kids to have their photos with Santa and get my photo at the same time -- killing two birds with one stone! |

Yep seen that. Now I am debating what is better - to take photos or make grilled cheese sandwiches? LOL

Just computed the static average for the last 10 open challenges at 303 photos. The moving average places more weight on the recent votes and is coming in at 499. Over the last four challenges, there is a natural logarithmic projection of 1200 photos this time around (this number is mainly due to the 304 photo gain from BizNat to Macro W/O) .
