I wonder...

Does it help someone to have a lower amount of votes or a greater amount of votes?

How does this affect the accuracy of the scores?

I think I would rather have a larger number of votes
Getting a bunch of avg votes seems to me more helpful than a handful of high votes.

Not sure what you mean by helpful.

Statistcally speaking, the larger the sample size (that is, the greater the number of votes) the more accurately the data reflect what the group "thinks," provided that the sample is relatively unbiased--meaning the voters are diverse and representative of the community at large.

I'll take all the high votes I can get.
I think having a few good comments is the most helpful to my goals here.
