Has anyone got any information at all on the Courtenay brand of studio lighting? I can't find anything useful at all about them, let alone a web site for them.
In particularly, anything at all about the 4000S and 8000 models, even their power output (400 and 800 Watt???????).
Anyone even know them by reputation?

These monoblocs courteney sola system are now made by the English company Patterson Photographic, as far as I am aware they are solid and reliable units similar too the bowens range. Another good Range is the Electra range which I have used for the past 10 or so years; If you contact Lacklands Photographic ltd at Auckland N.Z. Iam sure John and the boys can tell you who the Aussie distributor is

I managed to contact the people in the UK, who were very helpful.
It turns out that model was discontinued somewhere between 15 and 20 years ago. They told me to forget it as far as finding any spare parts if it needed to be repaired.
I am sorta rather glad I didn't take the risk *laugh*
