Yo_Spiff, I commend you on posting the best photo instead of the photo that would score the best. I love that photo. Tip of the hat.

Thank you. I think the one with the lighthouse would have done better with the collective. The surf shot wasn't as much about the seascape as the surfboarder. I really like the way the shoreline with birds ended up. I expect it to be one that grows on me over time and I may even have it printed and framed.

You should. It's a beautiful shot. And I agree about paying attention to the subject. That's the cornerstone of challenge themes. But either way, those are three fantastic photos.And I truly appreciate the one you submitted for the challenge.

I see I gave it a 7. Something about it appealed to me. I tend to like strong perspectives, so I also like the outtake.

Steve - The lighthouse would have scored higher from me for a 'Land/Sea Scape' type image. The gulls are very nice, but it feels more like a photo about the birds rather than a more expansive view.
