Or is this a mistake?

I'd like to know the answer to this question too.

Ah geez... I take full blame for this one. I was trying to get ahead of the game and make sure we didn't miss this week's scheduled challenge, and it looks like I started it on the wrong date. It's now been changed to end next Sunday. Looks like you get an extra day to shoot this week ;)

Well, at least you see an oppurtunity for improvement when you get done with the prints side of things -- queue the challenges up weeks at a time, not displayed until their time has come. You'll never miss the deadline again that way. :D

Would of been great to add to the rules "without involving clocks"...
I predict 90% of entries will be clocks.

I have an absolutely killer concept for this challenge, but it will involve a more elaborate set-up than anything I have attempted before; including a model, a specific set, and a single exposure/multiple elements shot (can't be more specific lest I give something away). This comes during a relatively bad week for me but I've got to make this one a reality!

I hate it when people do this! Must we always "predict" what the entries will be? YOu might just have ruined someone's idea. I'm gonna tell you right now, my entry does involve a clock. During every challenge there's always someone that does this. I BEG you guys to please keep these "predictions" and ideas to yourselves.

Come on - you must admit that predicting clocks in a Time challenge isn't spoiling it, surely?!

It might now be spoiling, but imo, we're voting those images down even before the voting starts.

That's to me just lack of imagination, unless it is a verry good one all clock shots get 2-3 points less from me, as any most predictable ideeas in any other challenges. It's just me I like to admire people with imagination. What I whas trying to say is that I like it when DPC enforcess imagination in people eliminating the most predictable from the rules like : macro w/o bugs, freedom w/o flags... and such. That's all I whas trying to say, sorry for ruining your ideea but I asure you more than half had that ideea too, you can think better.

What we must take into account are new members, are the challenges in future just for new subjects? New people may also want a challenge for macro bugs or flags etc. Photographic subjects are repetetive and always will be, I have never photographed a clock and wouldn't hesitate if I felt it would be a good interpretation.
Just my opinion.

The picture I have does not have a clock, and it is obvious how time is passing, to me, but . . .

Well, excuse me, but your entries don't exactly exude imagination.

Hey now...

It's interesting to see how a single comment can escalate into attacks of a personal nature. C'mon, we aren't this petty, are we? Let's keep it civilized. Who are we, small children? politicians? anteaters? :)

I agree, everyone's idea of imagination is different anyway,

Sure...Cristi's not the most charming at times, but the comment above needs only the following to negate it:

It's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?

Beauty is, yes. Imagination isn't limited that way. It's in the mind of the photographer as well as the beholder.

So I would observe that his photos exude imagination.

My 2 cents
All I have to say is âdonât think inside the box when voting while expecting others to think outside the box while photographing a subjectâ. In other words keep an open mind about all photographs and judge them fairly. They may not have the wow power in your opinion and you have the right to consider that in your final scoring. But just because someone takes a photo of a watch I donât think it is fair to say [before voting starts] that they are going to start at a â1 or â2.
NOTE: I have not taken my picture thus far and donât truly have any good ideas. I donât plan on submitting a timepiece, but if my inspiration leads me in that direction then I will.
