I shot those pictures yesterday. My first night shots with my new S5100. I think they are pretty awsome (my best ones so far). I know that some are slanted et don't fit the whole frame, but it was really cold and i did this in a hurry with a friend...

I like the two in the middle the best. I know you said you did hem in a hurry but I would have liked to have seen more of the base of the church in the second one. The last one is a bit burn out I think.
You can get some good shot at night, takes a bit of getting used to before you can start to "see" the shot because the light is so different than what we are used to seeing. Good work, keep it up, be safe at night, one of the guys, imagineer I think had his bag nicked during the last night time challenge, lenses the lot, gone!

I love no 1. Just this tilt (I agree with riotspyne). The third one is beautiful, but I would prefer to see the top of the church (I guess it was difficult to push it into frame).
I like the light effect the most, maybe that's why I choosed these two.

I particularly like 3 and 2. Nice lighting detail.
I take a lot of church photos and find the perspective distort feature in PS sometimes comes in handy for correcting verticals. might be worth a try for no. 4...Just a thought.

#3 is also my favorite, the angle and the lighting seem more flattering to the building (church?). Nice photos.
With shots like these on your first night, I am sure that you will get some awesome photos as you grow more accustomed to your new camera. |
