I am planning on purchasing a Canon G6 7.1 MP this weekend and was wondering which CompactFlash Card would be best.
I can get a SanDisk 512 CF I for $45.00
or a SanDisk 512 CF II for $70.00.

Would I notice any difference between the two cards?

Yes, you would see the difference- especially if you transfer your images with a Firewire CF reader. $70 is way too much, though. It's $55 HERE (or $87 for 1Gb).
