I tend to agree with you, but what gnaws at me is that this "If it's not eye candy, it's worthless" attitude has a pretty serious effect on averages when all the eye candy gets decent scores and all the rest 1s, and only 30 people are voting :-(
Still, we're very reluctant to police the voting to the point of telling someone "You're bad, you hand out too many low votes", so where's the line going to be drawn? |
Indeed! You know I don't agree with the ones in this case (I'm actually talking about the last couple of challenges), but I think it's important the voters have the right to wield them as they wish. The last thing SC needs to do is decide if people are voting according to some reasonable standard. |
I agree in most cases. But if someone gives 1s to more than half of the entries in a challenge, that doesn't seem to be using the whole scale. (edited to add -- I don't think I've seen anyone give 10s to more than half of the entries in a challenge.)
