My older Sony had a setting to create black and white photos. My F717 does not. How does one create a black and white photo using the F717? I don't imagine that Sony removed it from the automode for the heck of it. For the life of me, I just can grip how it's done in the manual mode, i.e. playing with the exposure, etc. |

No B&W on F717, only sepia.
Best to do it in postprocessing. load the image, start channel mixer, click monochrome and play around with RGB input (needs total 100%) for desired effect. |

I used to have that camera. No black and white mode. Do it in post-processing instead, since you have control over how the image is converted to black and white. You also have an RGB image in case you want the colour version as well. There's a myriad of tutorials out there describing how to convert effectively.
