Update, or rather no update
They finally got it into production and now estimated to be delivered on the 21st of April.
This happened with Dell 12 years ago as well, 2 months behind when they said it would come. I think it must be a Dell thing.
The monitor came within the week though, so I hope it works as I have nothing to hook it up to for a month =\

Hurry up and wait, darlin' :-)
It was like that with my latest iteration of the drone; they sent me the BATTERIES, nothing else. Why? Because it was a "package deal" with Drone, batteries, and case, and the *case* was out of stock... I had to move heaven and hell to get them to agree to send the Drone before the case, which they finally did. Weeks later, still no case... So I looked at their website and saw a similar, perfectly acceptable and slightly cheaper case that was in stock, and asked them to substitute that, and the whole runaround started again. I finally went over the heads of the reps to management and said look, this is all PAID FOR and it's a couple months later, you've been sitting on the money and not delivering, and at that point they conceded and sent the substitute case and all is well ;-)
Bears can be SUCH squeaky wheels, yes they can :-) |

It's not just a Dell thing. In fact, Dell is probably better off than some others. I work in the IT field and we haven't been able to get our preferred laptops and desktops (HP for most users) for probably a year, but Dell has been pretty good about shipping them out. I think they do a lot of manufacturing in Mexico as opposed to other countries, maybe that helps. |

You would think my Chip stocks would have risen lol
I know my brother has been waiting over a year for his new car as there are no chips available.
I am just impatient and over excited. But it does grate on one's nerves, when they have something on sale with no intentions of getting it to you it on time when there is nothing to build the damn thing to start with. It's like a game of , " Let's see who is patient enough, to wait a month or 2"
And Bear,,,, good job shaking that tree!!!
And ouch MM2k, that sucks!!! |

Gov. Abbott has state troopers re-inspecting trucks entering Texas from Mexico -- last I heard the lineup of trucks was about 9 miles (12 hours) long ... |

We dropped my wife's car off at the dealer for some service this week, and while I waited for her, I chatted with a salesman. They have not had a single new car on the showroom floor for six or seven months! All the ones on the floor were 2019-2020 models, pre-owned. Customers who order a vehicle today can expect delivery in September or October. |

Fantastic news, the Tower came in. Bad news, it worked for 4 minutes to set up and then had to reboot and now it doesn't work or rather it give me a message that the display connected to a disabled video connector. So spent 1.5 hours with tech support, who made me for 1.5 hours, plug and unplug the monitor cables . It worked for 4 mins and it was glorious on Kirbic screen (as it is now known as) Tried different more brand new cables, and then even the guy at Walmart tested out my cables that came with the monitor and they worked perfectly with several of his towers and monitors that he had.
So I dunno, guess it is more tech support this morning. |

Bugger... sounds like the reboot may have messed with the video output configuration. I doubt there is a hardware issue, but without a working monitor, it's pretty hard to run the system to do troubleshooting. Here's hoping you get it sorted out quickly.

So frustrating, I managed to get a screen up this morning and it was lovely, then as soon as you do a restart the screen does the disabled video connector again.
So, it sounds like you are spot on with the messing of video output.
DPC looked great though on the screen, I was really worried about the size of it, but after seeing it in action for a few moments, it looks fantastic (I did have to put the font size to 175 though)!!!! |

Yep, with the high resolution screens it is usually necessary to up the font size. 175 sounds similar to what I have typically done. I have a new 4k monitor coming some time in May, it's actually a 42" OLED TV, so I will use it for both computer work and for streaming content. I'm thinking my font scaling on that beast may be a bit less aggressive. |

From the link, it looks like that model has a dedicated graphics card - are you connecting the monitor to that one (should be down in the expansion slots area of the back of the case)?
The connector that uses the CPU/onboard graphics would be the one right near all the other ports on the back of the computer.
If you're using the dedicated GPU's port, maybe for whatever reason when you reboot it's changing that setting and re-enabling the onboard graphics. It shouldn't, though...
