Can't wait to see your entry! Glad to hear you are doing well!

Is it taboo here to tell others what your entry is?

Yeah, that need to be kept hush hush....until the contest is over.

Yes commenting is rather slow. I am used to getting about 5-10% comments on decent shots.

I have finished voting, will do some commenting.

I'm hovering about 5.45, and I've gotten a grand total of 1 comment.

The votes seem to be about on course, the commenting might be a little down. I think a bunch of folks have burned out after looking at nearly 1000 images this week. I'm trying to decide if I have the proper attitude to vote the "bizarre nature" challenge this evening, or to let this one pass.

I'm seeing just short of 5% comments on my "Calendar" shot...

...and I feel very lucky to be where I'm at. I shot my entry 18 minutes before the deadline, which didn't leave much time to edit and submit. I pulled another entry to submit it, one that I'm pretty sure would not have done as well.
Flip side is, I have another take of my final entry that is actually much better, and boy do I wish I could have entered that one.

OK, now I'm getting comments (7 actually), but I'm not sure I want them. I'm getting hammered over one aspect of the photo that has been successful in the past, but doesn't seem to be working for me.

Isn't that almost always the case? I switch at the last minutes sometimes, then sit wondering what was I thinking afterwards.
Glad you didn't use it, and better keep an eye on your rear view mirror - coming in behind you with a 6.3838.

And no borders in this one - LOL!

6.2 here. If you stop suddenly, you're gonna get rear-ended.

I think if you have a good shot, you get comments. I may finally get a ribbon on this one, and it was a shot taken when I was doing a site assessment for a class. I shoehorned it.

Heyyyy.... no shoehorning!

Hey, lookin' good! hopefully it'll creep up and get you above the 7.0 "barrier." That's always a good feeling! Good Luck!

I am very confused now about what people are thinking when they vote. I went from a 6.12 to a 6.02 overnight. I have 2 comments and they are both very good.

I am now completely convinced that some people base thier votes on how well thier own submission is doing.

No I am not complaining saying my photo deserved any certian score. I was very happy and suprised to see it doing as well as it was. The feeling I got when I see it nose diving is sickening.

I think I want the update button removed or at least a option to turn off viewing the scores till the challenge is over.

Edited for comments: I now have 5 comments and they all love the photo.

If you go to My Home>My Preferences you can turn off scores AND the update button during voting.

I guess people dont like this challenge too much, I almost have 100 more votes in Macro than I do in Calendar
11/12/2004 04:42:51 PM · #42
Yeah, this is the lowest number of votes and comments I've had since the beginning of July.

Sniff, sniff....looks like that 7 mark won't be a happening thing in Macro.
Oh well, at least I should be in top 20 35 or so in Impressionism.

ROFL
Had to update. Why? Just because xion, just because...LOL

I can't seem to find my violin smiley. Maybe you could shift some of that Calendar score over to Macro to help you out (say... .15 or so)? ;-)

So far I've managed to vote 100% on Calendar with 50% commented on. Zero and zero for Macro. Hopefully that helps balance things out a tad! LOL
