Coolhar, one of us is operating under a faulty assumption, or at least a major diagreement of opinion. What makes you think anything needs to be fixed? What value does a "ribbon" have? How valid is the statistical database? The whole point of a rookie challenge is for people who are at least new to DPC competing against each other, not against those who are established and adapted to the likes of DPCers. Almost every sport and competition I am aware of in the world, has different rankings and different skill levels. One of the benefits here is, for the most part, we ignore those. But they do exist, we should be aware of them, and a Rookies challenge is a good idea. What, an artist could get AT THE MOST one ribbon, if this was done quarterly? Is that really going to skew your stats?

editted for typos

Or at the very least have two challenge with same theme running at the same time and to stop the voting issues you can only vote on the one you didn't submit to.

While I like the idea of recognizing new talent, I believe they will come through in the regular challenges. I also don't like the division of the site into categories of people, no matter how temporary. And I already have trouble find topics that I want to participate in, more categories that I can't participate in only makes this site less desirable to me.
