w00t!!! My first top ten finish!
*skylen does his happy dance*

I was really happy with my photo and I'm so honored to get such a good score (for me). But I wondered if the soft focus was the best choice for this shot.

Here's the challenge entry (soft focus), and the alternate version (no soft focus):

I really like them both equally.

I love soft focus photos. In this case the soft one apeals more to me.

I used to like sharp photos when I was in "photographic" diapers, but I have evolved to like the more artsy looks in photos.

I like the soft focus shot more so than the sharp one, but I might like a little bit sharper than it currently is. Most of the detail is lost to my viewing, and a little bit more detail, but soft detail, would be good.

Thanks for the comments! I guess I didn't necessarily choose the wrong one. Maybe I should have just used slightly less softness.

The sharp focus has some jpg artifacts you'll want to control. As is, I think the soft is better.

I would have to say you made the right decision! The sharp shot looks over sharpened. Maybe it is, maybe it is just the reflections on the metal parts, hard to tell, but woulda got shot down by the DPC voting crowd! Kudos onna nice shot.

Now if we can just make all the other DPC voters see the way we do...
