Thanks, Don, for your help. For fun, I'll try adding some photos if you don't think it'll blow up the site. :-) |

Rush et al basked in the opportunity to hop aboard the Trump Train and had I had an opportunity to take his photo, I would've definitely done that, just as I attended a Trump Rally to take photos, but also to see if I could somehow "understand" anything desirable about exploitation, willful ignorance and blind devotion to a monster. It turned out to be one of the most fascinating and terrifying experiences of my life. |
Liked what I read. I've experienced the same thing throughout the last administration as well.
I've occasionally run into someone who was a pretty serious 45 supporter who didn't seem like a rabid animal.
So I'd engage in some discourse that always started out reasonably. But the longer I'd engage, and the more in depth the convo went, it never took long before the stress cracks started.
Then the next thing you know, in the face of legitimate, honest questions about policy, actions, and perspectives, the rhetoric, deflection, and outright lies started to permeate th flow.
Once that would start, there would be an almost visual shift in the person as they shut down from civilized convo and started to get confrontational, and often, abusive.
I can't say as I ever walked away from any convo with a 45 supporter that didn't leave me with a sense of having wasted my trime and left me with a feeling of unease.

My "personal" Trump Supporter is still a sweet, warm guy who would never go "rabid" (he always leaves that up to me, ha!), but there's something else that resides in another segment of MAGA which, IMHO, involves fears, insecurities, a place to belong, etc. Nevertheless....we will NEVER change their minds. As I read somewhere recently: trying to change someone's genuine belief in a conspiracy theory is like trying to convince them that your religion is real, theirs is false. It will Never, Ever happen.
At any rate, here's my 2nd attempt to provide just a few Trump Rally photos for those who are interested. Enjoy(while your skin crawls)!

Thanks, Jeb. Coming from you, that means a lot. There are so many genius photogs on DPC. Whenever I get a compliment from one of 'em, I swoon. Thank you. |

Just read your piece, Lucie, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Seems like a through the looking glass experience. The photos were also terrific, professional and immediate. I really envy your getting the stink eye from McConnell. A badge of honor.
Thanks, Don, for the help in negotiating the web.

Thanks to you all who helped me through the maze, Don, Rich, Jeb et al. I agree: having McConnell give me a dirty look was probably coinkydink, but heart-warming nevertheless. ;-) |

Agree. I love that so many are "former"! :)
You captured some great expressions and above all, the personification of the extreme narcissism coming through so strongly. |

Thanks, Margaret. I'm glad they're "former", too, more than you can possibly know. T'was quite the experience! |

Yeah....what she said!
That shot of Rand Paul proselytizing is really good.
The shots of tRump just make me want to wipe that smirk off his face.
Soooooooo glad he's out!
